Get involved!

The feedback we gathered about Central Maui's transportation needs shaped the project's vision and goals. We’ve worked with you to identify the most important connections for people walking and rolling, biking, taking Maui Bus, and driving. And we've developed and prioritized projects to help get you to the places you need to go. Those projects—and much more—are detailed in the draft study, which is ready for your review and feedback.

Stakeholder Task Force and Technical Advisory Committee

The Stakeholder Task Force (STF) includes community leaders who have worked closely with the project team to share information and represent various perspectives in Central Maui. The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) includes County and State staff who have responsibility for or a connection to transportation in Central Maui. The STF and TAC have provided advice and input, made recommendations, and helped engage the community throughout our planning process. They met six times as we worked together to develop I Mua Central Maui:

Past Engagement Events

Our first round of engagement included an interactive online map, survey, and an activity to describe your transportation ideas. You helped us understand what works and what doesn’t when it comes to getting around Central Maui today, your big ideas for the future of transportation, and set the I Mua Central Maui goals. We will use your input to identify potential projects, and help to set priorities for funding.

We're building on the work of current and past planning efforts, including the studies shown below.
